Since I first entertained the idea of becoming a teacher, I have wanted to be a teacher for a lot of different reasons. The biggest reason I wanted to become a teacher is that students have no concept of the timeline of history. I decided during my internship I would someday write a book about the totally WRONG things students think and say. Here are just a few of them...I thought you might actually enjoy them as well.
Test Question: Who killed Abraham Lincoln?
Student answer: Harriet Beecher Stowe
Student question: Did Hitler have a fake arm?
Me: Why would you say that?
Student: Because his hand is always up in the air (making the Hail Hitler sign)
Me: So, today we are going to discuss the Constitutional requirements to being President
Student: Wait, THERE ARE REQUIREMENTS????
Maybe someday with enough time, I will have erased all the years of ZERO history training and get them where I want them. Here's hoping????
